When couples ask me for engagement session location recommendations in New Jersey, Liberty State Park is always at the top of my list. With sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, waterfront paths, open green spaces, and some of the best golden hour light in Jersey City, it's easy to see why.

For this engagement session, we spent the evening exploring some of my favorite corners of the park while the sun slowly dipped behind the skyline. The result was a gallery filled with natural moments, beautiful light, and the kind of relaxed energy that makes engagement sessions so special.

One of the things I love most about Liberty State Park is the variety it offers in a single session. We started with iconic skyline views overlooking Lower Manhattan and One World Trade Center before wandering through the park's tree-lined paths and waterfront walkways. Within just a short walk, we were able to create images that felt completely different from one another while still telling a cohesive story.

Like many couples, these two arrived a little nervous about being in front of the camera. That's completely normal. Rather than focusing on stiff poses, I guided them through simple prompts and movement that allowed them to interact naturally and enjoy the experience together. Before long, they were laughing, cuddling in the grass, and completely forgetting about the camera.

As the evening continued, the golden light along the waterfront created the perfect backdrop for some of my favorite images from the session. The soft summer colors, sailboats drifting through the harbor, and relaxed atmosphere of the park gave everything a timeless, romantic feel.
