A Rainy Day Engagement Session in Hamilton Park | Jersey City Engagement Photographer


Despite a rainy forecast, Kevin and Suzy embraced every moment of their engagement session, wandering through the park and historic streets surrounding one of Jersey City's most beloved neighborhoods. The overcast spring light, fresh greenery, and blooming flowers created the perfect backdrop for photographs that felt timeless, relaxed, and full of genuine connection. We also incorporated a bit of film photography into their session, which beautifully captured the soft tones of the spring blooms and the lush greenery throughout Hamilton Park.

Hamilton Park is one of my favorite locations for engagement photos in Jersey City because it offers the best of both worlds. Within just a few blocks, couples can enjoy lush gardens, tree-lined pathways, historic brownstones, and charming neighborhood streets that feel quintessentially New York and New Jersey.

As we explored the park, Suzy and Kevin naturally settled into each other. Whether they were sharing a quiet smile on a park bench or laughing together while walking through the neighborhood, every moment felt authentic and easy. One of my favorite parts of engagement sessions is watching couples forget about the camera and simply enjoy being together, and these two made that incredibly easy.

The spring flowers throughout Hamilton Park were in full bloom, adding soft pops of color to the session. Combined with the rain-kissed streets and historic architecture, the result was a collection of photographs that felt romantic, elegant, and uniquely reflective of Jersey City.

One of the highlights of the session was exploring the surrounding brownstone streets just beyond the park. The historic homes, blooming rose bushes, and quiet neighborhood charm created beautiful backdrops that perfectly complemented Suzy and Kevin's classic style. Even the rainy weather added something special, creating rich colors and a cozy atmosphere that made the entire session feel intimate and personal.

As a Jersey City engagement photographer, I always remind couples that great engagement photos aren't about perfect weather. They're about connection. Suzy and Kevin brought that connection with them throughout the entire session, and it shines through in every image.
